Statement on Manchester Synagogue Attack

I am shocked and saddened at the truly horrific attack which took place at Heaton Park Synagogue in the heart of Manchester’s Jewish Community this morning. The fact that this attack took place at a sacred place of worship and on Yom Kippur, the holiest day in the Jewish calendar, makes it even more appalling. 

My thoughts are with the victims, their families, and the wider community who are now facing unimaginable and profound grief and shock – they all remain in my thoughts and prayers. 

I stand ready to work closely with victims and the wider Heaton Park community, to listen to and advocate for their needs at this incredibly difficult time.
